“XVI Oltin Qalam” 2022 Award Ceremon
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram has been honored with ‘Oltin Qalam’ (Golden Pen) award for the year 2022, jointly announced by the Creative Union of Journalists, National TV, Radio Company, and Ministries of Culture & Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan
His Excellency Aybek A. Usmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan presented the award to Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram on behalf of the organizers.
On 27th June 2022, an award-giving ceremony was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan. Experts and honorable dignitaries from the embassy and various institutions attended the ceremony. The event was organized especially to honor Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram with the ‘OLTIN QALAM’ (Golden Pen) award for the year 2022 bestowed by Creative Union of Journalists of Uzbekistan due to his exceptional efforts and work for regional connectivity and enhancing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
The contest was organized by Creative Union of Journalists, International Training Center in Conjuction with the Electronic Media Association, Independent Media Support Fund, National TV, Radio Company, and Ministries of Culture and Sports, Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The result of the16th international Oltin Qalam was announced on 5th May 2022 in the grand ceremony held at Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A large number of experts/journalists/media persons were nominated from all across the world.
It is a proud moment that Mr. Khalid Taimur held the second position among all the nominees. Each year, Oltin Qalam (Golden Pen) competition is organized by the Republic of Uzbekistan in order to encourage experts who have been actively working for national development, enhancing people-to-people contacts, and rendering wonderful services to media & journalism of Uzbekistan.
Since 2006, the UNESCO Tashkent Office presented its international nominations at the national contest for journalists "Oltin Qalam". It is noteworthy to mention that Mr. Khalid Taimur is the second Pakistani in the last 16 years, who has received this award.
During the ceremony, His Excellency Aybek A. Usmanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Pakistan appreciated the proactive role of Mr. Khalid Taimur in promoting bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan and also reinvigorating Central-South Asian Regional connectivity. High-level dignitaries and participants also acknowledged the robust efforts by Mr. Khalid Taimur that he has provided a new impetus to people-to-people contacts and academic collaboration between the two brotherly states.
Mr. Khalid Taimur Akram expressed his gratitude to the organizers and jury for honoring the award. He extended his support to build strong relations between both states to achieve common aspirations with a shared forward-looking spirit.
